"B4b-Hybrid" Custom Bass Guitar
This is my newest instrument. 4 string single-cut Jazz bass, quilt Maple top with a chambered body, acoustic-style Ebony bridge.
Bolt-on 5-piece Maple/Wenge neck, bound 24-fret Ebony fingerboard, Ash body.
This bass has 2 pickup systems for a huge tonal range and flexibility on stage or in the studio: a standard passive Nordstrand Jazz pickup setup and an active Fishman acoustic piezo pickup in the bridge. I have it strung with black tape-wound strings to get a jazzier, acoustic sound from the piezo system (they sound great through the magnetic Jazz pickups too). |

Jazz-style Mandolin. Oval sound hole, carved Spruce top, Koa back and sides, Ebony fingerboard and bridge.

Hollow body Acoustic Electric hybrid guitar. Spruce top with "F" hole and natural Mahogany finish, Honduran Rosewood back and sides with single cutaway, Maple neck with Ebony fingerboard, headplate, and tuner buttons, two P-90's and Fishman Natural 1 acoustic transducer.

5 string electric mandolin. Custom Nordstrand humbucker, chambered Mahogany body with Quilt Maple top, Rosewood fingerboard and adjustable bridge, 3-piece Maple/Mahogay neck, tobacco-burst finish.

"B6b" 6 String Bass
6 string bolt-on bass. Contoured Ash/Maple/Walnut body, 24 fret 2-way adjustable Maple/Walnut neck, Pao Ferro fingerboard, Seymour Duncan active soapbars with Aguilar OBP-1 preamp.

"SM" Custom Bluegrass Mandolin
A quilted maple mandolin, mid-finish. I am using an alcohol-based dye that is hand applied. The binding will have to be scraped afterwards.

A really nice piece of figured redwood, sent to me by a customer--lucky me! Here I am figuring out if the body template will actually fit, and where to put it for best effect. The finished product is pictured below.

My third electric mandolin. Features a Lace single coil pickup, adjustable ebony bridge, and maple neck on a mahogany body. 5 single strings tuned C, G, D, A, E.

Pink Ivory 6 string bass fingerboard. While riding my bike along West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz around sunset time...well you get it. This was a really nice board and I decided to book-match it so the bottom half would look like a reflection of the top half. Insert a sun, some pelicans, and land features and you've got a sunscape. (Finished pic below.)
